Two members of the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District senior staff have recently been honored by key industry trade associations:

Terry Barnhart - Hyland Hills Park & Recreation District | Denver, CO

Hyland Hills District Planner, Terry Barnhart, was honored as a Manager of the Year by the Colorado Special District Association (“SDA”) in late September. Barnhart was recognized for 23 years of involvement and, specifically, his contributions to seven major Hyland Hills park improvements, 17 attractions at Water World and a myriad of park and recreation District projects throughout the years. More recently, Barnhart’s involvement in the 80-acre Clear Creek Valley Park project has extended from community engagement, design and development, to site acquisition and partner/grant funding. Working tirelessly, Barnhart is also overseeing a water needs and resources audit for the District’s future.

Rick Fuller - Hyland Hills Park & Recreation District | Denver, CO

Hyland General Counsel, Rick Fuller, was inducted into the World Waterpark Association (“WWA”) Hall of Fame at the trade association’s annual trade show and symposium in October. Fuller started work with Hyland Hills as its General Counsel in 1992 after working with a law firm that had served the District since 1978. Fuller became active in the WWA through his involvement with Water World, now known as one of the greatest water parks in the world. The World Waterpark Association honored Fuller for his work on the WWA’s, safety, public sector, and government committees as well as his role with WWA’s committee leadership council. He also served two terms on the WWA Board of Directors and has received a host of previous honors from the organization. The WWA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made noteworthy achievements in the development and advancement of the water attraction industry.
