Happy New Year from Hyland Hills, where we are all wishing you a wonderful and prosperous 2019! This year, you’ll notice that we will be continuously celebrating throughout the entire year at our facilities because we have many, many delightful reasons to do so.

* The Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills continues to let the good times roll. In the early 1960’s, Hyland Hills applied for and received the first Federal Open Space Grant for golf course land acquisition, to build the first ever golf course in Adams County. Over the years, the golf course has played host to thousands of tournaments and hundreds of thousands of golf memories made by dedicated lovers of the game.

* Water World isn’t too far behind, splashing in at 40 years old in 2019. The park opened in 1979 as only the 4th waterpark in the country, and the first publically- owned water park. Today, Water World is known throughout the world as one of the best water parks in the country. The park, which opened with just a couple of slides, now features more than 50 unique water-play attractions on 70 acres of beach fun and more than 15 million guests have visited Water World.

* While it’s hard to believe the north-area’s favorite family adventure center, Adventure Golf and Raceway will turn 30 in 2019, it’s true. With 54 themed holes of miniature golf, a super-fast go kart raceway, bumper cars, and am amazing and challenging ropes course, your adventure begins the moment you step inside the park.

* The Ice Centre at the Promenade will slide into the New Year at 20 years old as well. The three-rink Ice Centre debuted as the largest publicly-owned ice skating facility in the country. It is home to hundreds of figure skaters and hosts one of the largest adult hockey leagues in the USA. The Ice Centre is also enjoyed by an enthusiastic general ice skating public, who religiously take advantage of open skate times.

The Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District exists for the sole purpose of providing you, our Residents who live within the District boundaries, the finest recreational services and park facilities. We take pride in the milestones these award-winning facilities will be achieving in the coming year, and, we hope you do too. Annual revenues from these facilities help us provide better facilities, athletics, programs and services year-round for Residents and guests alike.

As we celebrate, we will of course take time to honor and reflect on the memories you and your families have made and enjoyed at that these notable Hyland Hills facilities. You are invited to join us in our ongoing celebrations throughout the year. Please look for your email newsletter for details.
