Introduction to Silversmithing #144303

Come and learn the fine art of silversmithing.  This is an intensive, fast paced class that will get you started in the basics of the construction of silver jewelry.  In 10 weeks you will make 3 structured projects, a pendant, a ring and a bracelet.  Most tools and equipment are provided.

SILVERSMITH II-INTERMEDIATE #144304

Intermediate: three structured projects, Advanced: non-structured.

This class is for those who have previously completed Silversmith I.

Students are encouraged to use their own ideas. The class is less

structured and more advanced. Supplies are an extra charge.

JEWELRY CASTING #144301

This class provides instruction mostly on the “Lost Wax Method” of

casting and various steps necessary to complete the process, such

as: wax carving and debubblizing methods, investing, burnout,

centrifugal casting, and finishing. Equipment is provided.

Participants are responsible for needed supplies and small tools.

with all of our new updated equipment provided. Participants are

Open Studio #144305

Open Studio Time for Jewelry Artists is available to all students who have participated in the silversmithing classes at Hyland Hills. Others wishing to join must demonstrate proficiency using the equipment.

Days and Times:    Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm

                            Friday mornings from 10:30 am-2:30pm

                            Sunday afternoons from 1-5 pm*

*Note: Some of these days and times will vary due to the schedule of other groups who use the Baker Center. We will post a monthly calendar.

Fee: $10.00 per session, payable to the instructor. Min 5 /Max 15

 

Classes are held at the Baker Community Building 6755 Irving St.
