Renovation of the Club House at the Golf Courses at Hyland Hills are underway.  The Courses are open and play is not affected by the renovation work.  Click here for more information.

gary maurek inducted into World waterpark hall of fame

 

Gary Maurek Water World Assistant General Manager, Gary Maurek was inducted into the World Waterpark Association's Hall of Fame on October 5, 2011.  Gary was recognized for his professionalism and industry contributions in an ongoing career of over 50 years in the aquatics industry.

Readers of the The Metro North areas "Great 8" newspapers selected Water World for best swimming pooland best dessert (Funnel Cakes); The Golf Courses at Hyland Hills for best local golf course and best driving range; Adventure Golf and Raceway for best place to take your kids and Perl Mack Community Center as best gym/place to work out.

Board members honored by Special district association

Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District Board Members Don Ciancio II and Sarah Heil were honored by the Special District Association of Colorado as Distinguished Board Members as follows:

Donald Ciancio II

Don is strong a leader who is resolute about excellence, both in his personal expectations and those of the district. His business experience has been key in the development and management of the District's impressive portfolio which includes Water World and the Hyland Hills Golf Course. He is an active advocate for youth, involved in raising funds to provide recreational opportunities to kids regardless of their family's ability to pay, and the Be-A-Fish program which, to date, has taught more than 8,000 kids how to swim. He volunteers with the Have A Heart organization and selflessly supports several golf tournaments that raise funds for a number of causes. Don has also been instrumental in several mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations, including Adams County and the City of Westminster

Sarah Heil

Using her expertise, Ms. Heil and the Board at Hyland Hills refunded general obligation bonds which saved the district's taxpayers almost $500,000 over the next 12 years. She is hard-working, well-liked, and a thoughtful contributor to the district's Board. As co-chair for the silent auction fundraises, she has helped to generate thousands of dollars of scholarships for the youth who have no means to pay for recreation activities. Her efforts have also made a significant contribution to the Be-A-Fish program which has been recognized for its successful collaboration with local school district.
