Notice to electors

NOTICE TO ELECTORS OF HYLAND HILLS PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT

The principal business office of the District is located at 1800 W. 89th Ave., Federal Heights, CO 80260. The District's Executive Director is Greg Mastriona, 303 650-7507. The present members of the District's Board of Directors are:

  • Donald Ciancio, II
  • Roger Gudenkauf
  • Sarah Heil
  • Nicholas J. McCoy
  • Mark Whitney

The Board seats presently held by Directors Gudenkauf and Whitney will be on the ballot at the next regular special district election on May 8, 2012. The current mill levy of the District is 5.617 and the total ad valorem tax revenue received by the District in 2009 was $4,660,253 (estimated). The next regular special district election at which members of the Board of Directors will be elected is May 8, 2012.

The procedure and time for an eligible elector of the District to submit a self-nomination form for election to the Board of Directors is as follows:

  1. Not less than sixty-seven days before the date of the regular special district election, any person who desires to be a candidate for the office of a special district director shall file a self-nomination and acceptance form or letter signed by the candidate and by a registered elector as a witness to the signature of the candidate;
  2. On the date of signing the self-nomination and acceptance form or letter, a candidate for director shall be an eligible elector of the special district.
  3. A self-nomination and acceptance form that is not sufficient may be amended once at any time prior to 3 p.m. on the sixty-seventh day before the election.
  4. The self-nomination and acceptance form or letter shall state the name of the special district in which the election will be held, the special district director office sought by the candidate, the date of the election, and the full name of the candidate as it is to appear on the ballot. Unless physically unable, all candidates and witnesses shall sign their own signature and shall print their names, their respective residence addresses, including the street number and name, the city or town, the county, telephone number, and the date of signature on the self-nomination and acceptance form or letter.

An application to request permanent mail-in voter status can be obtained from the Adams County Clerk and Recorder or on-line from the office of the Secretary of State and can be returned to the Adams County Clerk and Recorder. The results of the next District election shall be posted on the internet at www.hylandhills.org.
